The day Manager Sweetu and the night Manager who's name I regretfully forget are always at a customers beckoned call to help with the quickness and satisfaction for any and all problems and dilemmas I've ever come across. Maybe the nicest and best managers I've ever come across in any hotel... And I stay in a LOT so that truly means something!!! Anthony S

Best Western Plus Hill House in Bakersfield is adjacent to downtown, giving you easy access to a variety of restaurants and things to do while here. Our room was clean and comfortable enough, and the desk staff were friendly. The lobby and lounge area is elegant and invites relaxation. An on-site restaurant is available (Mango Haus) for a pay breakfast. Rooms here cost less than most area hotels. Recommended.

BW "Hill House" was built in 1975 and the architecture reflects that in its wide hallways, large rooms and estate layout. Location has a resort feel. Multi building layout and fashionable pool. Rooms are nicely appointed and modern. The grounds are manicured with seasonal fruit trees. Gated perimeter fences and security cameras provide ample security. $10 breakfast not included. Wish I took more time to see more of the grounds,... maybe on return visit.

What a delightful stay at the Hill House in downtown Bakersfield. Right in the heart of the city, it is next to a fabulous Mexican restaurant. The location also has a gate that makes you feel secure at night. But what was the truly amazing was the hotel concierge, Nancy. She truly went above and beyond in the performance of her duties. She dealt with a difficult customer before she waited on me and I had several 'minor' crises to deal with and she helped me through them with professionalism and grace. The room was a good size, clean and relaxing. Again, the highlight was the service! I highly recommend this hotel and please, give Nancy a raise!

The corners could use some dusting as there were spiders in the them. But overall, it's a great, comfortable, quiet and safe place to relax. The property is gated and closed at night. The cats on the property are really friendly also. Will definitely stop here anytime passing through.

We were traveling through and stayed one night. The lady at the desk was very nice and helpful, we appreciate her. The room was very clean and comfortable, everything worked fine. The parking lot is fenced and secure at night, we liked that also.

The front desk went beyond normal effort to make me feel comfortable, safe and welcomed. The buildings are very nostalgic and a creek runs through the property where you can stare at the lights along the creek in a nice park. The Amtrak and a nice Large public library are close by. Thank you to the staff for making me feel welcome at all times!
